The iconic Villa Balsamo has been part of Old Saratoga for decades. Its great for a special occasion or just an escape from the corporate world that has moved into town. This is one of the finest establishment in town and the owner are awesome.

The greeting we received when we walked in to this place was anything but welcoming. The wait staff is very rude and macho italian waiters mostly. I have never had an experience like this before and I have been to some amazing 5 star restaurants all over the world. The food is not worth $100 PP. A cheap wine poured into unlabeled bottles that they charge $40 for is awful. I'm not sure why so many people like this place. We were rushed through dinner and told when we sat down that we had to be out by 8PM. We were seated by 6PM. I will tell all of my friends of the way we were treated and the high price gouging of food that is simply mediocre. I am very disappointed as I wanted to try this place for a long time. There were 8 in our party and the bill was over $700.

This is the place of legends. The elegance and atmosphere sets the tone at first, but after you step through the doors and experience the smells and tastes you know you are in the right place for good food. I recommend starting off with a nice chopped salad with shrimps oreganto and baked clams, but if you enjoy a cold dish to start the stuffed baby eggplant with roasted red holland peppers, farmed fresh beefsteak tomatoes and fresh mozzarella drizzled with olive oil from italy is a good choice. As for pasta goes the fettucini prosciutto is second to none! I highly recommend this restaurant for friends and family.
